Thomas J. Van Hoof,
MD, EdD
Dr. Van Hoof is the Associate Dean of Continuing and Community
Education and an Associate Professor in the Department of
Community Medicine and Health Care at the University of
Connecticut School of Medicine. He received his medical and
psychiatric training at the University of Connecticut School of
Medicine, and he completed a fellowship in medical ethics at
Harvard Medical School. Additionally, Dr. Van Hoof earned a
master's degree in education from the University of Connecticut
and a doctoral degree in education from Teachers College,
Columbia University. Dr. Van Hoof’s research and teaching
interests relate to adult learning and the use of educational
interventions to change provider behavior.
